mariah started out their relationship to art as a painter. they are not monogamous to one paint medium and loves to dabble and play, sometimes even mix media. they do have a soft spot for gouache and acrylic and an on and off siuationship with oils. most of the work in this section is from undergrad with a few commission pieces through the years

mariah loves to play with layering digital photographs and images to create a visual story. most of their astrological collages you can find here in the ‘observatory’. the collages pictured below are tarot collages mariah made to depict her bridesmaids based on tarot archetypes

in college, mariah created many pieces of art focused around sexual trauma and violence. In this 30 day project, mariah created an art piece every single day in realism to depict how seemingly mundane objects and experiences can trigger PTSD for someone who is healing from sexual trauma.
